Learn MoreAbout this line
A hospital wheelchair is pushed hundreds of times a week, shared between patients and cleaned constantly. That is why MOVO builds its standard wheelchair range on chromed or powder-coated steel frames with solid rear wheels that need no inflation and no maintenance, in Medica-Lab's own factories: the SFDA-licensed Madinah factory for Saudi Arabia and the Badr City factory for Egypt.
The range covers folding models with single or double cross-brace action, the non-folding MLW-4700 for continuous in-facility transport, the MLW-902 high-back reclining chair, compact transit chairs, and a bariatric steel wheelchair with a 61 cm seat rated to 125 kg. The standard seat is 46 cm wide, with options from 35 to 61 cm, and most models carry 100 kg.
We supply hospitals, clinics, care homes and distributors, and families looking for a robust wheelchair for elderly relatives at home, with every order starting from a written quotation.
Hospital wheelchair fleets: steel frames, maintenance-free wheels
The core model, the MLW-972, has a chromed steel frame that folds for storage and vehicle transport, detachable footrests, and solid 58 cm rear wheels with 20 cm castors that never need inflating. Most of the range follows the same formula with different fittings: flip-up desk armrests on the MLW-909, detachable armrests and footrests on the MLW901B and MLW972BF2 for side transfers to a bed, and drop-back push handles with a united attendant brake on transit chairs such as the MLW976ABJ-43, which runs on four solid 20 cm wheels for indoor corridors.
A steel wheelchair for elderly users and long-term home use
At home, powder-coated steel gives a stable chair that stands up to years of daily use, with net weights from 12.6 kg on the MLW863ABJ transit chair to 17 kg on the MLW-909. The MLW-902 pairs a reclining high backrest with elevating footrests and movable armrests for users who spend long hours seated. For broader users, the MLW975-51 offers a 51 cm seat and the MLW209AE-61 a 61 cm seat, both rated to 125 kg and fitted with pneumatic rear wheels.
Sizes and configurations
Sizes start at the MLW802-35 with a 35 cm seat and 54 cm overall width for smaller adults and tight corridors, run through 41, 43 and 46 cm seats, and go up to 51 and 61 cm. The range also includes two commode wheelchairs with U-shaped seats: the folding chromed MLW609U and the wide-seat MLW609LBU-52 at 52 cm. When requesting a quotation, specify the finish (chrome or powder coat), whether the chair must fold, and the armrests and footrests you need (fixed or detachable).
What determines the price of a standard wheelchair
Price is set by the model and configuration (folding or rigid, detachable rests, reclining back), seat width and load capacity, the quantity, the delivery city in Saudi Arabia, Egypt or the Gulf, and the warranty and after-sales terms you require. Send the model, quantity and city through the quote form and we will reply with written pricing.
FAQ
What is the difference between a steel wheelchair and an aluminium one?
The chairs in this range have chromed or powder-coated steel frames: heavier than aluminium, but built for shared, high-turnover use in wards and clinics, with solid wheels that never need inflating. Aluminium is lighter and suits anyone lifting the chair into a car every day. Most models in both ranges carry 100 kg, and steel models go up to 125 kg.
Which wheelchair for elderly relatives do you recommend for home use?
It depends on the user. If they propel themselves, choose large 58 or 62 cm rear wheels, as on the MLW875 or MLW909. If they sit for long hours, the MLW-902 has a reclining high back and elevating footrests. If a family member always pushes, a transit chair with drop-back handles and attendant brakes such as the 14.3 kg MLW904B is the practical choice.
Do you make a non-folding hospital wheelchair?
Yes. The MLW-4700 has a rigid, non-folding steel frame designed for continuous in-facility patient transport in hospitals, clinics and long-term care departments, where the fixed construction adds stability during transfers. Like the rest of the range, it is manufactured by Medica-Lab in its own factories in Madinah and Badr City under an ISO 13485 quality system.
Where are MOVO wheelchairs made?
MOVO steel wheelchairs are made by Medica-Lab in its own factories, like HOSPIcare beds: the Madinah factory supplies Saudi Arabia, where units are SFDA-licensed (ML-2023-MD-0885) and carry the Saudi Made mark, and the Badr City factory supplies Egypt. Both work under ISO 13485:2016, with spare parts and service held locally in each country. That matters to hospitals running a wheelchair fleet for years.
Is there a minimum order quantity for hospitals and distributors?
We do not set one in advance. We quote a single replacement chair, a full ward fleet or a distributor container, and the quotation states the quantity, delivery city and lead time. Hospitals, rehabilitation centres and distributors reach us through the quote form or by phone, and individuals can order the same way.
